Herndon Horse 4-H Club

Cloverbuds take Pony Rides.

Herndon Horse members go on a trail ride.
4-H Herndon Horse Club held two meetings this quarter and had a fun filled club event. In our first meeting, we did horsey crafts.  Because we have so many members (26), we split our meeting into two sessions with Cloverbuds coming earlier to work on horse bookmarks and Juniors and Seniors coming later to create 3-D paper horses.   The two groups came together to finalize plans for our trail ride. The next month, 18 of our club members went horseback riding.  The older members went trail riding while the younger members had pony rides in the ring.  We spent the morning enjoying the horses and having breakfast together.  A fun time was had by all!

Club members make origami.

At our last meeting, members came together to make some horsey origami.  Then Mrs. Stephenson gave us a slide show of pictures from all the events we had done all year together.  It was a lot of fun seeing all that we had accomplished as a club.  We talked about upcoming 4-H events, club officer elections for next year and portfolios.  Mrs. Stephenson gave the Juniors a 4-H horse project to work on over the summer and then every member was awarded a 4-H Herndon Horse Particpation Certificate, horse stickers and a miniature horse.  We said goodbye to Stephanie Sorensen, our senior who graduated this year. Good luck, Stephanie!

We had two members attend 4-H congress this year: Rachel Stephenson and Caitlin Embly.  They both had a great time at congress and Rachel was elected as the 4-H Northern District Amabassador.  Congratulations, Rachel!
