Krazy for K9s 4-H Dog Training Club had a very busy training schedule this spring with twice weekly training meetings in basic obedience and agility foundation training at Frying Pan Farm Park. Preparation for competitive obedience, rally, showmanship and agility continues with the help of instructors Dian Thomas and Anna-Rose Wolff. Also, with the assistance of instructors Susan Brogan and Kathy Holshey, several club members are also preparing a group freestyle routine to be performed on Sunday, August 5th at the Fairfax County 4-H Fair.
In addition, Krazy for K9s members Arielle Ampeh and her dog Kaila and Kira Baugh and her dog Riley earned the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Certificate and passed the Therapy Dog International Certification exam on Friday, June 29,th in preparation for visits to local assisted living residences and other therapy work. Also, 4-H volunteers Cheryl Cass and her dog Scout and Brenda Shaver and her dog Penny passed the CGC and TDI certification exams. In addition, 4-H Cloverbud parent/leader Ioana Montel and her puppy Chaos earned the CGC certificate.
